Magdalena Borkowska
I am fascinated by everything that is abstract, hidden, secret, mysterious, surreal and invisible, as well as the enigmatic narratives of the subconscious mind. Through my art, I discover untold stories of invisible worlds, revealing the intricacies of life that lie in both the earthly and the extraordinary.
In each piece I strive to capture the essence of my subjects, whether through candid portraits or textured views of nature in stillness and decay. In portraiture, I delve into the authenticity of the human spirit, unmasking genuine emotion through careful observation and connection, either it is in my paintings or photography. My aim is to capture the silent tales sketched upon the faces I photograph.
My background in psychology weaves into my artistic process, deepening the narrative beyond the image and fostering a heartfelt bond with the observer. This interplay between psyche and art fuels my drive to create artworks.
Abstract works serve as an open invitation to the viewer’s interpretation, an intimate dialogue between my inner world and theirs. Together, photography and painting serve as conduits for a profound experience.
My invitation through photography is to pause, to appreciate the overlooked beauty, and to immerse oneself in the magic that surrounds us. My visual art beckons you to engage more closely, to embrace feeling more profoundly, and to experience the world anew with a sense of awe and boundless imagination.
