Daniel Bulimar Henciu began painting in 2005, inspired to continue after an encouraging encounter with an American artist. He later earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in painting at the Faculty of Arts and Design, West University of Timișoara.
Henciu has developed a distinctive personal style that reflects his curiosity and drive to innovate. His work blends inspiration from the great masters with his own experimental methods, resulting in original creations marked by individuality and vitality.

Daniel's paintings reflect a unique dialogue between Synthetic Cubism, Impressionism, and Expressionism, where geometry, atmosphere, and emotion intertwine. His practice is defined by the expressive use of acrylic on canvas, carefully layered and blended to achieve the depth and luminosity typically associated with oil.

Rather than relying on predictable effects like dripping, he emphasizes the intimacy of gesture—visible in fingerprints, dynamic brushwork, and tactile surfaces shaped with knife and markers. These elements invite the viewer into a closer engagement, where texture and rhythm become carriers of meaning.

Beyond his visible process, Henciu also cultivates personal, undisclosed techniques, introducing an aura of secrecy and distinction that heightens the allure of his art. The result is a body of work that feels at once innovative, mysterious, and profoundly human.
His works are conceived to transport the viewer into a realm of dynamism and imagination. “All my paintings are in motion, none is static,” Henciu affirms, encouraging spectators to enter the shifting universe of his canvases through their own imagination. Inspired by figures such as Joan Miró, Gerhard Richter, his art ranges from abstract expressionist impulses to conceptual explorations. Subtleties borrowed from Dadaism and innovations drawn from diverse artistic languages further enrich his style, making his paintings not just visual encounters but immersive experiences.
