Anastasia Shik is an Italian contemporary artist born in the USSR and based in Milan. She has been a finalist for the Graciela Iturbide Prize and the Premio Ciutat de Barcelona, and is the winner of the New York Photography Awards, the finalist of The Portfolio Parade 2026 curated by Erik Kessels, finalist of the Premio Ciutat de Barcelona 2025, Reial Cercle Artístic, 2025.

Her work is held in the permanent collections of The Museum of Avantgarde (Switzerland), CICA Museum (South Korea), Sasse Museum of Art
(USA), and MoCA (Italy). She has exhibited internationally, including at Arsenale Nord in Venice, Rencontres Arles (France), The Ballinglen Museum of Art (Ireland), Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art at Bedford (USA) and many others.

Anastasia's work is an inquiry into the space between perception and thought, the rapid, invisible machinery of the mind that sorts, labels, and evaluates before we have a chance to breathe. Using the body as a tool, and hybridizing photography with acrylic paint, she explore the raw forces that drive human behaviour: desire, intimacy, vulnerability, and power.

She does not offer answers. instead, Anastasia offers questions. Mirrors held up for the viewer to become aware of themselves in the act of perceiving. What do you see? What do you feel? Are you sure?
