Kathrin Marchenko is a textile artist based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Working primarily with hand embroidery on transparent tulle, she creates large-scale works that exist between painting, drawing and sculpture.

Through thousands of hand-stitched threads, Marchenko explores themes of memory, perception, transformation and the fragile relationship between presence and absence. The transparency of tulle allows light and surrounding space to become active elements of each composition, creating works that shift with their environment and viewing angle.

Inspired by nature, Impressionism and the emotional language of colour, her practice frequently incorporates floral forms, birds, eyes and organic motifs that serve as symbols of intuition, connection and personal experience. By translating painterly gestures into thread, she expands traditional embroidery into a contemporary fine art medium.

Her works have been exhibited internationally and are held in private collections worldwide. Through her practice, Marchenko seeks to reveal beauty, vulnerability and wonder through the simple yet transformative language of thread.
