Michel Phelippeau

For Michel, painting is a way to direct his own energy on the canvas. His first steps are to choose the subject, the harmony of colours and the composition. He likes to spend time for reflection, how he can organize all my ideas and feelings before the beginning of the act of painting. Afterwards, Michel's greatest pleasure is the same as Delacroix, to prepare his colours on his palette, to find and discover new tonalities of colours by mixture with his knife.
Michel is looking for harmony and he profits now from his experience of a large number of tests to do that. Michel's end goal is not to obtain a resemblance to the subject but transcribe an emotion in relation to a pictorial effect. He started painting very young, he learnt with the teachers at the Etampes school in France. Michel's first exhibitions in France and abroad started 25 years ago. A lot of his paintings are in private collections around the world.
